The Project in a Nutshell

In July 2019, Rusty, one of the business owners (who actually has great business and marketing skills) has decided that it is time to transform their fantastic product quality and brand awareness to the digital environment, too. Being awesome (4.9 Google and 5.0 Facebook reviews), the business was very much viable without proper digital presence. Rusty, aware of how people think and search nowadays, was trying to improve that over the past years. He did not have too much luck with digital consultants, though 🙂

Long story short, Catnpaweb came aboard and after our meeting with Rusty, we’ve agreed on building a new website and starting the work on search visibility. The old website was quite a disaster – a hardcoded WordPress site where Rusty could not even change texts or images on the homepage, not mentioning the design, usability, performance, and other factors. Our new website, fully technical SEO optimised, was launched on 15 August 2019. We’ve introduced many standard things that a modern website needs to have nowadays, with a few important innovations and tweaks that help not only efficiently deliver the message to people looking at removals but also help Rusty and Matty manage their enquiries in a more intelligent manner. Lastly, analytics and tracking needed significant improvements. We introduced SEO Dasboard to analytics and more importantly, set up goals tracking properly so that not visits of Contact page but real conversions are tracked as goals (along with their real-world monetary value).

New Website Features

A Portfolio of Website Forms

Having one website form for a quote and another for general contact is not enough. People need to have the opportunity to interact in a way that suits their needs and matches the context of currently consumed content. Therefore, we introduced a series of well designed forms, easy to fill in, allowing people to ask questions, get advice, get moving quote and/or directly boook one of the four most popular moving services. Proper notifications for both customer and business, connection to google analytics, saving enquiries to database and allowing their management are a must (but were not present before).

Lightweight Design

We got rid of the heavy, dark and unmodern design (we’ve saved the old design if you’d like to check for yourself) and replaced it with style that defines the Easy Peasy brand. Light and easy to navigate through, the website is now a pleasure for sore eyes. With simple navigation and structure and mobile optimisation, the design fulfills all the expectations on a Y2019 century website.

Simplified Pricing

Easy Easy Removals pride themselves in offering fair and transparent pricing. We adjusted the Pricing page to reflect the fact that Easy Peasy offer standard rates for weekend removals and apply a discount to moving jobs occuring in the middle of the week. The pricing page now shows 4 most popular moving jobs along with clear information on the typical load size and the opportunity to book the service immediatelly in a few clicks.

Security and Trust

A must these days, the site needs to be resistant against malicious attacks, protect the customer data both while transmitting (SSL secured) and storing. You can’t rest assured nothing will happen with outdated WP core, plugins and theme. Not mentioning the (previously) missing SSL encryption.

Performance

Page load speed represents an important aspect of user experience. People just hate slow website! Moreover, a slow website won’t outrank its competitors in Google SERP. Enough said, Easy Peasy Removals website is lightning fast. The only thing GTmetrix suggests is a CDN which, to be honest, is not necessary, having customers only in Melbourne. One screenshot says more than a thousand words :). Can it really be this fast? Easy peasy …

Analytics

Knowing where people come from, what they do on your website, how they consume content and decide whether to engage with you or not is so easy in the digital environment. Setting up conversion and goals tracking so that it really measures what it should and simplifies real business reporting is another story. We’ve taken over several dozens of projects from other marketing agencies and I can tell you one thing: None (=0) of them had proper goals setup. Thanks to our work, Easy Peasy will now exactly now not only which channel contributes to the business to what extent but also which pages are driving their business (in $$$), which forms work bettter than others and most importantly, measure ROI of any marketing effort precisely.

For someone, maintaining a Blog section, such a crucial component of a useful, content-rich website nowadays, can be very painful. Not for Rusty though! He has many great ideas that can help people get ready for the moving day, optimise their moving experience and the living quality in general! The new Tips & Tricks section, cleverly organised into categories and topics, will be a valuable resource to people looking at moving advice. And our useful blog posts, nonetheless, loved by Google, will hopefully become great landing pages, allowing people to find the brand and visit the website.

This page can’t handle the list of all improvements we’ve made for and with guys at Easy Peasy Removals. Working on their SEO now, we’ll aim at making them more visible in Google organic search over the upcoming months and years. They have scored for eight (8) keywords in Google SERP in August 2019 and for none of them on the first page. A lot of work awaits us but we at Catnapweb love challenges.
